Painting Calculators

Paint quantity comes down to three numbers: the area to cover, the number of coats, and the spread rate — how far a gallon goes, which depends on the surface. The Paint Calculator works from a measured wall area; the Wall Paint Calculator is the shortcut that takes a room's perimeter and height and deducts a standard area per door and window. The Ceiling Paint Calculator uses a lower default spread rate because ceilings are often rolled over texture. The Paint Coverage Calculator is the reverse tool — it tells you how far the paint you already have will go. None of them add a waste allowance, because rounding up to whole cans (a gallon plus a quart is often cheaper than two gallons) covers touch-ups. Primer is a separate coat over bare or heavily colour-changed surfaces.
