Masonry Calculators
Masonry estimating is unit counts plus the mortar (and sometimes grout) that goes between them. The Brick Calculator turns a wall area and brick size into a brick count and the mortar volume; the Block Wall Calculator does the same for concrete block and adds the grout for any reinforced cells. The Mortar Calculator is the standalone version for when you already have a unit count and just need bags. The Retaining Wall Calculator is different — it estimates the interlocking blocks, caps, base pad and the drainage stone behind a segmental retaining wall, which is as much a drainage detail as a masonry one. All four assume standard 3/8-inch joints and a single-wythe running bond; a double-wythe wall or a header course roughly doubles the unit count. Reinforcing steel, ties, flashing, lintels and any veneer are separate.

How to Calculate Brick and Mortar Quantity
Brick count comes from wall area and the brick's exposed face size, including the mortar joint. Mortar volume is estimated as a share of the wall volume.
How to Calculate Plastering Material Requirements
Plastering quantity comes from wall/ceiling area times the plaster coat's thickness, similar to a very thin concrete or mortar volume.
